Building upon the success of our EDI partner showcase at The Crown Estate last autumn, Real Estate Balance is pleased to invite you to this virtual event to introduce the organisations widening access to UK real estate and its associated sectors and supporting people once they are working in our industry.
This session is open to all and may particularly appeal to HR and EDI practitioners. It is being organised by our dedicated and talented NextGen Committee, who revealed in their most-recent research that 70% of up-and-coming property professionals found out about our industry through a friend or family member or by chance.
You will have the opportunity to hear from a broad range of organisations, listed in full below, on the valuable work they do in promoting the variety of careers on offer in real estate to pupils, students, teachers, parents, caregivers and career-changers, how they work with industry partners to progress inclusive workplace cultures and the impacts they are having. Confirmed participants are:
- Smart Works - empowers women by providing free interview clothes and interview training to help them into employment.
- Purple - works with businesses to promote disability inclusion, helping them understand accessibility and inclusive recruitment.
- 2-3 Degrees - aims to connect young people with diverse sectors and industries, including the property sector.
- Breaking Barriers - supports refugees into employment by collaborating with businesses to create employment opportunities, offer work placements, and develop recruitment pathways for refugees.
- Freehold - a networking forum which addresses the equality gap for the LGBTQIA+ community in the property sector.
- Reading Real Estate Foundation - aims to connect young people at the University of Reading with corporate organisations in the real estate industry.
- The Land Collective - youth-focused organisation committed to social mobility and increasing employability in the property and built environment.
Participants will be able to ask questions of the representatives from the organisations, with the aim ultimately being to spark a conversation that continues offline.
