A lunchtime webinar with the Church Commissioners and Savills to explore the different challenges and opportunities when it comes to progressing equity, diversity and inclusion at different sized workplaces. Thursday 13th February, 1pm to 2pm.
When it comes to implementing impactful EDI initiatives, there are advantages and disadvantages depending on the size of the company trying to do so.
A smaller organisation may be more agile and able to power change through less potential resistance, and it may also be easier to develop genuine and visible inclusivity when an employer has fewer people to influence. But an SME is also likely to have limited resources for EDI and be hindered in attracting people in the marketplace of diverse talent.
Larger organisations can often allocate budget to further EDI through comprehensive training, empowering employee networks and finding and developing talent, and utilise sophisticated tools to measure and track progress. Yet change may be held up by the often-complex nature of doing so at large organisations, and populous hierarchies may be less open to new ideas.
The intention for this event from Real Estate Balance, the Church Commissioners and Savills is to provide a forum for property professionals to discuss how different sized organisations approach three key areas:
- Recruitment from a diversity perspective
- Progression from an equity perspective
- Culture from an inclusion perspective
The speakers from the Church Commissioners and Savills will also cover issues relevant to all organisations, regardless of their size, including the ongoing challenging economic conditions and the impact they are having on progressing EDI. We will also explore how we can learn from each other’s EDI experiences at various sized and shaped employers.
Attendees will have the opportunity to share how they are tackling some of these topics and also ask questions of our participants.
