Take part in the NextGen Survey 2025

Profile photos of 14 young professionals and the words 'NextGen Survey'.

Our NextGen Committee, pictured above, have opened their latest survey to research the experiences of industry participants aged under 35 or in the first 10 years of their career, whatever their role or level.

Taking place every two years and now in its fourth edition, the survey helps to inform the Committee’s work and accelerate progress on issues like fairness, representation and belonging across UK real estate and its associated sectors.

The survey is completely anonymous and only takes 10 minutes to complete. There are demographic questions and ones relating to accessing the industry, professional development opportunities and inappropriate workplace attitudes and behaviours.

For the first time, the survey also includes questions on AI and how positive the up-and-coming generation of industry participants feel about their career prospects in a world of rapidly emerging technologies.

Take part in the research now!

If you are not aged under 35 or in the first 10 years of your career, please share the link below with your colleagues who are – NextGen would really appreciate it your support!

NextGen Committee Co-Chair Jasmine Ceccarelli-Drewry, Director, Place Advisory, Avison Young, said:

“Over the past year, we’ve seen growing concern among NextGen about how national and global debates on EDI might hinder progress at a local level. I’m keen to understand how our committee – and others like it – can best support the next generation of talent to feel secure, inspired and confident in building a real estate career. That understanding must be grounded in robust data and evidence. As we enter our fourth survey, we’re excited to explore how we can continue driving a more inclusive, forward-looking built environment.”

NextGen Committee Co-Chair Kevin Boakye, Talent Acquisition & DEI Specialist at Hines, said:

“The survey comes amid ongoing global change pertaining to DEI, as well as the ever-growing influence of artificial intelligence; both of which continue to impact our industry daily in various ways. The NextGen survey is a vital tool for understanding the lived experiences of early-career professionals. It helps us identify where progress is being made and where more work is needed. This year’s addition of questions around AI is especially timely, as we explore how emerging technologies are shaping access, opportunity and belonging.”

NextGen Committee Co-Chair Elizabeth Collin, Head of Marketing at Davitt Jones Bould, said:

We are continuously listening to our NextGen members – gathering stories, experiences and insights that help us track how our industry is progressing with EDI. While these conversations are powerful, I’ve come to understand that real change is driven by data. That’s why surveying both our members and the wider industry is so important. If we are serious about widening access and building a more inclusive future, we need the facts to guide us. So if you’re under 35 and working in real estate, I urge you to take part.”

Thank you to Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer for supporting this initiative by hosting the event to release the findings of the research in November.
