Real Estate Balance has contributed to a new book about diversity which launched in London on 23 June.
In a world defined by volatility, uncertainty and rapid change, the ability to understand and harness diversity has become a critical advantage.
Crash or Bounce: Diversity in a divided world is a book of essays that draws on global practice from a range of industries, exploring how organisations, societies and leaders respond when pressure either exposes fault lines or creates unexpected resilience.
We were pleased to have contributed a chapter on how Real Estate Balance has been leading change in the UK property industry, bringing together our learnings from the past ten years and looking at how practice in this area is likely to evolve over the next decade.
Drawing on contemporary thinking in management, organisational behaviour and social dynamics, the book examines why some systems break under strain (“crash”) while others adapt, recover and even strengthen (“bounce”).
It highlights how the diversity of people, perspectives and approaches can either become a source of friction or a foundation for innovation and stability.
Grounded in real-world examples, Crash or Bounce offers insight for managers, policymakers, students and anyone interested in how diversity interacts with division, resilience and change in today’s global landscape.
This initative was led by one of our founding members, Elisabeth Teo-Pennell, on behalf of Real Estate Balance. We’d also like to thank our Chair Jo Davis, founding member Suzanne Avery, and Paul Browne from Meaningful for their contribution.
