Sheena Singla from Logicor joins our Board

News / 01.06.2023

Real Estate Balance is delighted to announce that Logicor General Counsel and Head of ESG Sheena Singla has been appointed to our Board of Directors.

Sheena brings a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience to the non-executive director role, and is also the HR Lead and a member of the senior executive management team at the European owner, manager and developer of logistics real estate.

Prior to joining Logicor in 2016, Sheena was the General Counsel at Essar Energy plc, at the time a FTSE 100 company, and she also spent 12 years as a corporate lawyer at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

She has a proven track record of success in a variety of different sectors and countries, working closely with a wide range of stakeholders to foster positive change, and is passionate about progressing diversity and inclusion (D&I) in the real estate industry.

Sheena holds a First-Class Honours Degree in Jurisprudence from Somerville College, Oxford University, and is the lead governor for D&I on the Board for a secondary state grammar school.

Even though Logicor has only been a member of Real Estate Balance for a relatively short period of time, Sheena has impressed everyone by sharing her insights as a member of our Policy and Campaigns Committee and Influencing Supply Chains working group.

She also was part of the panel discussion at our recent flagship Better Balance event, held this year at CMS, and shared her views on topics including how to break the bottleneck of underrepresentation between mid-level and senior leadership positions and why the traditional working week may need to be adapted to reflect the way we work and live today.

Discussing her appointment, Sheena said:

I am delighted to join the Real Estate Balance Board and about the opportunity and responsibility that comes with it to contribute to driving positive change in the wider real estate industry.

“We are making a lot of progress, but there is still a lot to do.

“We all individually have a responsibility to improve D&I but by working together, we can make a real difference and all benefit from the innovation and successes that will come with a more diverse and inclusive industry.”

Liz Peace CBE, the Chair of the Board of Directors and one of the co-founders of Real Estate Balance, said:

“We’ve been through an extensive and exhaustive recruitment process both this year and last year to find the right people to join our Board, represent the more than 120 organisations which comprise our membership and have a say in determining the strategic priorities for Real Estate Balance in the coming years.

“I very much welcome Sheena’s appointment and believe her energy, enthusiasm and expertise both on the real estate industry and on the D&I challenges and opportunities facing our sector will be of enormous value to her fellow directors, the executive team and all of our members.”

We would like to place on record our thanks to Real Estate Balance member and international executive search firm Granger Reis for supporting and advising us on Sheena’s appointment.
