Real Estate Balance is proud to partner with Women Leading Real Estate 2023

Bisnow’s Women Leading Real Estate (WLRE) conference is an annual celebration of women who are shifting the dial on diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI) in UK real estate. Launched in 2018 and now in its sixth edition, WLRE is one of the most significant diversity events within the UK CRE industry.

By celebrating the women working to progress DEI in real estate and sharing the stories of their career, the event provides education, networking and professional development opportunities, while increasing awareness of the diverse career paths available to women in the industry.

For the past six years, Bisnow has also produced a list of women professionals doing brilliant things in the sector to celebrate the diverse range of talent within UK real estate in the run up to the event.

This year, we’re thrilled to announce that our managing director Sue Brown has been recognised in the list for her decades of incredible service to the industry.

As a longstanding champion of diversity – not least in her current role where she has led Real Estate Balance to broaden its objectives from gender equality alone to including ethnicity and social mobility – there’s no one more fitting for the ‘The Progressive Pioneer’ accolade.

We’re delighted that many of our members have also been honoured in the list, which is testament to all the great work we know they are doing to progress DEI:

  • BNP Paribas Real Estate’s Charlie Williams, ‘The Excellent Executor’
  • CBRE IM’s Christina Forrest, ‘The Family-Friendly Fund Manager’
  • Cushman & Wakefield’s Ilda Krekurti and Victoria Smith, ‘The In-House Inspirations’
  • Davitt Jones Bould’s Madeleine Davitt, ‘The Equality Initiator’
  • GPE’s Alexa Baden Powell, ‘The Investment Innovator’
  • Hines’ Anna Budd, ‘The Network Builder’
  • JLL’s Stephanie Hyde, ‘The Pay Gap Pioneer’
  • JLL’s Sue Asprey Price, ‘The London Youth Leader’
  • Landsec’s Georgina Manley, ‘The Diaspora Driver’
  • Landsec’s Kate Honey, ‘The Community Champion’
  • LGIM Real Assets’ Yvonne Ambo, ‘The Connector’
  • LGIM’s Jas Chahal, ‘The Real Assets Revolutionary’
  • Maples Teesdale’s Ana Klein, ‘The Grad Made Good’
  • Quintain’s Sarah Birchley, ‘The Legal Leader’
  • Savills’ Alison Mennecier, ‘The Social Mobility Savant’
  • Savills’ Fiona Sullivan, ‘The Disability Disruptor’

Sue Brown will also be speaking at the WLRE conference on the Headline Fireside Chat With Sirius Real Estate, along with Kremena Wissel, Chief Marketing & Impact Officer, Sirius Real Estate and Jihad Al-Khazali, Marketing Manager, Sirius Facilities GmbH where she will discuss Sirius Real Estate’s diversity initiatives, with a particular focus on PRISMA, a programme aimed at recruiting refugees who have settled in Germany.

The WLRE conference takes place on Wednesday 18 October in London.
