Sectors Demystified: Banking will be held on 14th November at The Portman Estate.

We will be holding our next 'Sectors Demystified' roundtable breakfast event on Wednesday 14th November 2018, 8.30am to 10.00am at the offices of The Portman Estate, 40 Portman Square, London W1H 6LT.

Our ‘Sectors Demystified’ breakfasts provide an introduction to a particular area of real estate from an expert in the field. The session on 14th November will be presented by Barclays Head of London Real Estate, Sharon Quinlan.

Sharon is responsible for supporting the bank’s real estate clients with their debt finance and full banking needs and expanding the quality and size of the London property lending portfolio. Before joining Barclays she was Head of Business Banking at Bank of Ireland, responsible for running the UK commercial banking franchise. Prior to joining Bank of Ireland, Sharon spent over 15 years at Barclays working across UK origination for real estate finance at Barclays Capital and property finance within the corporate banking team. Sharon is a member of the Real Estate Balance Developing Leaders Committee.

At the session Sharon will outline how the real estate finance sector has changed since the Global Financial Crisis and discuss how these changes present both opportunities and challenges for the real estate industry. She will also discuss the differences in approach to financing different asset classes and how to consider the balance between risk and reward.

A light breakfast will be served and there will be an opportunity for questions and networking.

Space is limited, so places will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis and we suggest only up to 2 places per company.

Please RSVP by Wednesday 31 October 2018.
